The 65th Annual Conference of Indian Classical Music was held at Kolkata’s Nazrul Mancha, the venue where this iconic music festival has been taking place since 1991. This time after a gap of 15 long years the morning session was reintroduced once again on the inaugural day, 22nd January, 2017. Earlier these sessions were confined to Bhajan programmes only but, this time it was planned to present a programme of Indian pure Vocal and Instrumental music.
Janab Hassan Haider Khan & his troupe presented a Shenai recital before the formal inaugural session.
Pt Jasraj lighted the inaugural lamp at 11 A.M. and inaugurated the 65th session in presence of eminent dignitaries of Kolkata city.
The inaugural ceremony was followed by prize distribution to successful contestants of the annual talent search contest being organized by The Dover Lane Music Conference.
After lighting of inaugural lamp, Pt. Jasraj presented his vocal rendition. Panditji sang amazingly on that moring session.
