A Report on 68th Annual Music Conference

The 68th Annual Session

(22nd January – 25th January’2020)

This year, the 68th Annual Conference started on 22nd January 2020 and continued up to the morning of 26th January 2020. All were night long sessions as usual. The 68th session was dedicated to the memory of Pt. Ravi Shankar on his birth centenary.

Also, the first night i.e. 22nd January 2020 was dedicated to the memory of Pt. Ramakant Gundecha whose untimely death has affected the Indian classical Music fraternity. We deeply mourn his sudden demise.

The inauguration of the 68th Annual Music Soiree took place on 22nd January 2020 at 9 p.m.

Before the inaugural ceremony, a prolific vocal recital was rendered by Vidushi Saswati Bagchi as a curtain raiser of this year’s annual conference. The inaugural lamp was lit up by sarod maestro Ustad Aashish Khan, Sangeet Samman Awardee 2020..

Eminent guests were also present on the dais. Among them where Janab Firhad Hakim, Honourable Minister in charge, Municipal Affairs & Urban Development, Govt. of West Bengal, Mayor, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), Shri A. K. Chandra, president of the annual conference committee and Shri Pradipta Shankar Sen, chairman of the governing body of the organisation were also present.



Sangeet Samman Award’2020

The annual Sangeet Samman Award 2020 was conferred on Ustad Aashish Khan by Janab Firhad Hakim.



Talent Search Contest (2019-2020) & Pratima Chandra Memorial Awards 2019.

The inaugural ceremony was followed by prize distribution to the successful contestants of the Annual Talent Search Contest and Pratima Chandra Memorial Contest, being organized by The Dover Lane Music Conference & The Dover Lane Music Academy.
